park to park

there is a new 10mile run that started. it goes through 4 parks in the city and it travelled directly outside my front door. my neighbors and i stood out and watched them yesterday morning. i had already done my run today, so i wasn't joining in. there were quite a few runners and it made me wonder if i will ever participate in a race.

i have also been considering training for an aids ride- next year will be my 50th birthday and i think doing a ride or a marathon might be a good project for myself.

i'm thinking about turning 50 and i found this clip.i just had to smile to myself at the absurdity of it all, and still feeling old and feeling not old at the same time. there are nights like this one in the clip that i remember. the feeling. the mood. the shows. the clubs. the ravings. the groove, really.

i used to have a workmate brian that loved to do the axel rose dance. he would sway side to side with his hips, usually off rhythm. he did an incredible job imitating him and would always make me laugh. how is it that so many fashion don't(s)in one person can somehow make an icon?

so listen as snake's guitar gently weeps.....
and i just love a sing-a-long.
knock knock knockin on heaven's ......

Will you get out of my brain, please?
I must have spent a good 14 minutes this morning on how relieved I was to be turning 49 because I have another year to prepare for 50.
Though Bilbao seems like a pretty cool place to be for that transition.

Oh, folks--now that I'm 55, 60 is looking mighty young and vibrant! Seriously. Hey, warrior scout, I hope you had a restful, upbeat LD weekend. Gosh--I hope Saturday's post (ex-gay watch) didn't freak you out, my friend.
