Second, I always have liked the straightforward way you capture where you are in a given moment.
"The process of rebuilding my sense of self is at hand."
Indeed, it does appear so, and yet, maybe we are always at the cusp of that process, or at least at the threshold of another doorway.
Which always represents progress, if only we could consistently grasp seeing it that way.
So much about life can be explained by the simple words "ebb" and "flow." And yet, when we are ebbing or flowing, it seems the least comfortable thing we want to do is recognize just that.
But you did that in this post, simply, elegantly. And to summarize by noting the megamillion people on the planet who are in truly dire straits is not only factually true, but a statement of grace.
