Amy Winehouse is so obsessed with island life in the Caribbean, it's inspiring the sound of her new album.

The 'Rehab' singer has been on an extended break in St. Lucia since December in a bid to overcome her drug addiction.

And she's enjoying herself so much, it's inspired her to write songs based on the holiday hotspot and adopt a style similar to the local music.

Winehouse is even hiring three musicians from the island to help her get the traditional sound just right - despite her bandmates expressing concern over the musical change in direction.

A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "Amy's love affair with St. Lucia shows no sign of wearing off. She's been recording with three local musicians who play traditional island instruments like the cuatro, which is a small version of a guitar, and shak-shaks, which are similar to maracas.

Amy's immersed herself in every aspect of island life and is particularly taken with the nations folklore. She's definitely going to call on the colorful content of the islands legends for her new songs.
