homophobia

it's not over, nor is easy to remember that we do have every right to be who we are. and maybe we have an obligation to do so. in order to make strides to work towards changes. i may not be experiencing this particular kind of trauma today, but i have in my past. and i have had to work through it and regain my sense of self and my ability to hold my head up.

what are your thoughts?............

Homophobia is fear of homosexuals. What we face, every day to one extent or another, is more properly called Homohatred. And all too often in the extreme case it is the external expression of ones internalized self hatred. Psychologists have a term for men who act out violently toward gay men. That term is "Latent Homosexual."

As a recovering addict I can vouch for the herculean effort required to face the truth. As a gay man, it took me 41 years to come out to my father.

How did we come to create a country where truth is such a terrifying thing? When did we settle for 'truthiness'?

p.s. thanx for the gosling. my gander thanks you too! ;-)
