make art, make art

glen hansard cries "make art, make art" clutching the oscar he and partner marketa irglova snagged last night for best song of the year. i agree with the judging results about the song "falling slowly" (from the film "once".) it's tender and i am a believer that it relays the film's raison d'etre. i posted the song sometime last year, but am posting again today. the film was a music video, but i thoroughly enjoyed it.

and i thoroughly enjoyed marketa coming back onstage after commercial break, with the help of jon stewart, to offer hope and encouragement to any and all struggling musicians within earshot or line of vision.

their message last evening- hold on to your dreams- they can come true.
vive la boheme!

Glen Hansard - Falling Slowly Lyrics

I don't know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You've made it now

Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I'm painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You've made it now

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You've made it now
Falling slowly sing your melody
I'll sing along

I don't recall seeing this video on your site. Even worse, I totally forgot about the Oscars! LOL

That Jon Stewart is one class act, isn't he? I was so impressed by him bring her back on to say her thanks.
