spiritual being

The word enlightenment conjures up the idea of some superhuman accomplishment, and the ego likes to keep it that way, but it is simply your natural state of felt oneness with Being.
Eckhart Tolle

my day is no doubt going to be full of lots of things, including surprises. michael van essen gets to town and is facilitating a forum on benefits and going back to work. i have no idea how many people will turn out, but of course i am hoping on a great turnout.

we will be debuting a "commercial" on our new peer mentoring pilot program there and i am hoping to show a short vid and further hoping the brochures and applications will be back from the printers.

i had a rough dui education class last night. the few who were there are new and are very angry. i understand completely. and i empathize. but i believe part of my job is to remind them of what is still waiting to happen in their lives. and remind them gently that they are spiritual beings, as i think they have that clouded from their minds at this point in their lives.

if there's one thing i have realized, it's that music really gets me going. if you have read this blog at all, you will probably understand since i post a song everyday. it's usually a mish mosh of sounds, some modern, some vintage, some chill, some club, some jazz.

today is no different. there is a song that is the centerpoint of this point. my friend posted it on facebook and i hadn't heard it since the very last time i floored it to the dancespace to shake it like i just didn't care. for me, dancing and music will always be spiritual.

today's sound choice is 1981's modern romance with "can you move" (may i suggest volume here?)

After two years of recovery I still am angry at times about my seeming unwillingness to accept the spiritual truths that lay before me. So I can well imagine the angry attitudes you must observe in a DUI class.
