i'm just an ordinary guy who has had a few extraordinary experiences. one is the complete and remarkable blessing of redemption through recovery. i thought i'd share some quotes on recovery that i came across. it dawned on me that indeed getting clean does mean that i am free from the bondage of drugs which leaves me free to feel good. it's up to me. i have to keep doing the work and not get bogged down with the same crap that used to lead me to getting high. i have to put my faith somewhere else besides just me if i want to grow.

Inspiring post, and I especially like the quote about not listening to the small people. I've learned, and have a lot of learning to go, that there are people who want you to fail. Your recovery, your progress, your enlightenment, means nothing to them. In fact, it threatens their notions about themselves and makes them more wont to strike out at you. In the end, you and your Higher Power control your destiny, not others. But if you let them, others will grab any reins you hand them.
