so the fun today is to simultaneously play the video and the tune as you read the third verse of "the boys of summer" by dylan thomas. it's contrived, but i think it's fun too. the vid can be played twice 'cuz the song lasts longer. it helps me in remembering that summer is just around the corner. that's when fun in the sun takes on a new meaning. and a very big "hats off" to gay telaviv for the video.
I see the boys of summer
by Dylan Thomas
I see you boys of summer in your ruin.
Man in his maggot's barren.
And boys are full and foreign in the pouch.
I am the man your father was.
We are the sons of flint and pitch.
O see the poles are kissing as they cross.

Thank you for illuminating the plight of these impoverished and undernourished young men, who can obviously not afford enough to eat, or any clothes to wear. How well they hide their pain, pretending to frolic without a care in the world, when they are certainly very hungry and worried about their future.
My moral choice is clear. I will adopt them, give them a warm place to sleep and some tightly fitting chaps. Please tell me where to send the plane tickets.
Thanks for this. What an inspiring, inventive post. So glad its almost time to return to the beaches.
Marc said it all. Where do we post our thanks, tidings and financial commitments to the bois?
YUM YUM YUM. What a way to end the first warm day of the YEAR here in Seattle (80 degrees). Thanks Rod.
I thought I could see their poor cold little willies bobbing up and down in time with the music, trying to get the blood pumping.
I had to watch the video four times. There is a soundtrack embedded in the video and I watched it all the way through before I realized that there was a separate link for "The Boys of Summer." I muted the video soundtrack and watched it again, but as you indicate, the song is longer than the video. It was necessary to watch the video more than twice to get through the song, three times was just right.
I don't think that it's fair for Marc to assume the entire burden of adopting all three and I volunteer to take the tall one.
Btw, Dylan Thomas is one of my favorite poets. When I'mnot lusting over nude young men, I read poetry. I love summer.
