no apologies

"I have no regrets. I wouldn't have lived my life the way I did if I was going to worry about what people were going to say." Ingrid Bergman

i just cannot accept that breaking into someone's email account is ever okay, unless there is proof of danger to mortality. i am fairly certain that our current administration would highly disagree. i don't know, but surmise that violating civil rights, on which our nation is based, has slowly moved into "acceptable" if suspect of treason, spying, oppositional beliefs and policies, and refusal to cooperate.

conversely, i am unable to muster much pity or distaste for actions taken against the party in question considering her party of allegiance claims this precise behavior as its own right.

you get what you give...

Message to Ms. Palin...

THIS...IS...NOT...A...GAME

I am insulted that Ms. Palin thinks that asking readiness questions of her or apparently any other candidate is playing stump the candidate. Where has she been for other campaign seasons? Has she not seen other candidates get asked questions? Do people not ask questions in Alaska?

Horrendous.

nouvelle vague

“A changing environment will affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our location. I'm not one though who would attribute it to being man-made,” Sarah Palin

hmmm- seems someone besides "man" has been very busy. first getting a gas pipeline in alaska and now fighting a holy war for oil rights in iraq. and these are god's plans? i guess we all just melt with you sarah......

i was searching on youtube for a song by nouvelle vague. they do cover versions of pop songs and i have recently gotten into listening to covers. natasha bedingfield gives great cover too, but nouveau vague has a je ne sais quoi. anyway, i stumbled upon this clip of an old brad pitt film with a much younger catherine keener.

i saw this film (johnny suede) a lifetime ago. it was pretty campy. brad's hair shrieks both 80's AND rockabilly revival and i got a chuckle. hope you do as well. oh and the nouvelle vague cover of i'll melt with you gives me the shivers.

ps. i added a pic of me in a skirt from 1983 to my "fashion" post from 2 days ago. it's crazy. i knew had that pic somewhere and it drove me nuts until i found it.
it was taken upstairs at medusa's and leslie stephens is working the juice bar. i think it's at the end of the night(or beginning of next morning). there might be a kiki glaze in my eyes.

little things

sarah palin on abortion:
Every baby is created with a future and potential. (Aug 2008)
Pro-life. (Nov 2006)
Pro-contraception, pro-woman, pro-life. (Aug 2006)
Only exception for abortion is if mother's life would end.(Jul 2006)
see her on the issues here

i have been incredified with the consideration of big business friendly palin as a national leader. this is not to say she is without merit or good traits. i suppose my real concern is the priorities she holds dear and the order in which she lists them.

granted, i don't think she could ever be the "great and powerful oz-like" vp character we have in place today, but there is that possibility that mccain could come to his end somehow within the next four years.

i hear fodder all the time about people's concern that obama will be assassinated. and they say it as if it were a good reason not to elect him. his message is based on our nation living in hope instead of fear. but then look at the option. the aging ex-military man who is probably not very in touch with over half the voters, or especially their issues, in this country and who is 10 years past the age of retirement. and if something were to happen to him, then the "killing is okay if you have a shotgun and a license" and "drilling is okay if it keeps the cash flowing" nominee moves to the front of the line.

i found this song on a chill compilation at ministry of sound. it's by james bright featuring rachel lloyd. i have become a big fan of imeem because i can find music that has not been posted on youtube.
